BEST TEAMS OF YEAR 2008

In the last semi final, though Tob Dhen Dhey hit 36 kareys less than their average number of 40, they still won the match. Tob Dhen Dhey completed two game sets against none of Raven Inn and one of Rig Sum. Till the 14th round, everyone expected a penalty shoot-out between them and Rig Sum, as Rig Sum had equalized their 7th round game set in the 13th round. But in the 15th round, Tob Dhen Dhey hit 5 kareys at once to complete their second and the match winning game-set.

With the win, Tob Dhen Dhey will face Gaden Phunsum and Shardha in the 14th September final match of the tournament. These three which arose from among the 150 teams that participated at the start of the tournament, would be titled as the best teams of the year 2008, which will be accompanied with prizes that include coveted electronic items.


SHARDHA FULFILLS WISHES OF PEOPLE

hrh-khamsum-shot1The wishes and prayers of people have been fulfilled as their prince His Royal Highness Dasho Khamsum W. Wangchuck’s team Shardha won in penalty shootout over the teams of Marrows and Druk Dra Namgyal. Their match could not be completed as scheduled the last day and so the 15th round was played this morning. During the morning round, Druk Dra Namgyal hit three kareys, two of which was cancelled by dobji of Kinley Sithub from Shardha. Marrows, then could hit only one karey.

Contrary to general expectations, especially that of Shardha’s opponents, hundreds again showed up early this morning to root for their prince. And they did root Shardha to win, as during the penalty Shardha hit two kareys against one bull eye hit of Druk Dra Namgyal and none of Marrows.

As such, Shardha would be playing with Gaden Phunsum and the third semi-final winner on the 14th September during the finals.
