27th July 2010                       with today’s performance, Tshering Tashi of Karma Puen Dru is now out of contention for the top position. Tshering was able to add 7 kareys to his earlier two match total of 21 kareys, leaving him 6 kareys short of the top position held by Tshewang Dorji of Joya Chundu. Tshering Tashi’s team had to contend with 3 points as much as Wangthang – one of the match participants of this afternoon match at lower bacho. But Wangthang has better chance of qualifying (though slim) by having 12 team points and 75 kareys against Karma Puen Dru’s 10 team points and 66 kareys. Their match winner the ‘USD Construction 2’ was playing their second match and won the six points to add to their earlier five. In this match, USD hit 28 kareys.

USD Construction’s Kencho Tshering hit 11 kareys – today’s individual high which had also been produced by Sigay Phub in the morning at the other bacho. Sigay Phub’s team Gaa Drak Namgyal hit 30 kareys – July 27 team high – to win six points from Chhimis (27 kareys) and Wangyel (12 kareys).

The same morning, Club Ace won the six points of lower bacho morning match from Zimchu SA and Tshering Dugkar. Similarly, in the afternoon at the other bacho, Nga Cha Duk won the six points with their 29 kareys.

Nga Cha Duk’s Changlo along with Lhaba Tshering of Wangthang and Tshering Tashi of Karma Puen Dru are among the top twenty archers of the tournament as of now. They have the skill but there is no more opportunity since it was third league match for all of them. (The title of the best archers is based on league performance giving equal chance to all the participating archers).
